Hanging leg raise

From a hang you raise straight legs to horizontal and lower them without swinging. Hip flexor and abdominal strength that the L-sit and front lever demand.

Technique

  1. Active hang, shoulder blades down, legs together, toes pointed.
  2. Lift the legs to horizontal, the pelvis tucks a little, lower back rounds.
  3. Lower slowly, stop just before vertical, no swing.

Common mistakes

  • Swinging with each rep: pause at the bottom.
  • Knees bending: go back to knee raises and add time.
