V-sit

The L-sit with the legs raised high: trunk leaned back, legs and trunk form a V. Needs strong hip flexors and flexible hamstrings.

Technique

  1. Get into the L-sit, then lift the legs higher while leaning the shoulders back a little.
  2. Arms straight, shoulder blades down, back as straight as you can.
  3. Go as high as you can keep the knees straight.

Common mistakes

  • Bent knees: go lower.
  • Rounding the back instead of using the hip flexors.
